Carla McGlynn
Becky Nock
Our Springfield Lakes teacher Carla McGlynn has over ten years of experience teaching music in various settings. She has a Bachelor of Music Majoring in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Education (Second Class Honours) Majoring in Secondary Music and Minoring in Primary Music.
After graduating from QUT in 2010, she taught classroom music for kindergarten to Grade 10 students at an Ipswich Anglican school where she also directed three choirs, a glee club and a ukulele ensemble. At the same time she taught private piano and singing lessons, Musical Theatre classes as well as Music and Drama for kids age 2.5 to 10 years at The Studio of Performing Arts Springfield. Students called Carla’s classroom ‘the rainbow room’ because it was so colourful and fun!
In 2017 Carla began teaching Keyboard, Guitar, Ukulele, Drums and Singing to schools in Brisbane, Ipswich and Toowoomba. Carla soon moved onto mentor, manage and write curriculum, as well as running online lessons for remote and regional schools.
Brought up in Brisbane, but now residing in Ipswich, she performs locally as a singer-songwriter under the moniker Carla Thursday. You can catch her latest single on Spotify here!

Our Alderley based teacher Becky has been teaching since 2007. She has a BA in Popular Music (Piano and Bass Guitar) and grade 8 Piano & Theory.
​
Music has always been her first love, she studied music at college and then went on to university. Becky has taught instrumental music for 15 years privately and in schools.
Before moving to Australia in 2016, Becky played keyboard and managed a successful function band in the UK that took her around the world for weddings, events and eventually cruise ships. Becky also worked as a solo pianist in 5-star hotel lobbies and restaurants.
Becky passed her grade 8 piano and theory at age 15 and although classically trained up to then she has always had a love of rock and popular music!

Since moving to Australia she has been teaching Keyboard, Guitar, Drums, Ukulele and Vocals in over 50 primary schools in South East QLD. She also worked as a mentor to other teachers and wrote rock and pop curriculum books for primary school aged children.
She also works as a keyboard player and DJ at the weekends for various events and parties!
